The only way out of Kłodzko is to leave – the Nysa Bystrzycka River has started to flood. In Bystrzyca Kłodzka (Lower Silesia Province), the sewage treatment plant has been shut down, and the mayor of the city, Renata Surma, is asking for “conservative use of water”. She had previously informed that the residents of Międzygórze had one last chance to evacuate because the dam was about to overflow.
Intensive work is underway in Kłodzko – services and residents are strengthening the fire embankment on the Nysa Kłodzka River. The alarm level has already been exceeded by two meters. As Kacper Kudlak from the Kłodzko Volunteer Fire Department said on TVN24, people are coming to help.
– Everyone who can comes, we act because we have to – he said. – Since 1997, as parents, grandparents told us, people know what happened and want to unite again and help each other – he added.
As reported by the portal rmf24.pl, the Nysa Bystrzycka river began to flood and the mayor decided to close the entrances to the city – at the moment it is only possible to leave Kłodzko.
“Last chance to evacuate, let's hold on”
Renata Surma, the mayor of Bystrzyca Kłodzka, informed on social media about the shutdown of the sewage treatment plant. -“Please use water sparingly,” we read in the post.
Earlier, the mayor warned the residents of the village of Międzygórze that the dam there was about to overflow.
“Last chance to evacuate. Let's hold on,” Surma wrote around 9 p.m.
