Inhabitants of three towns in the Kochanowice commune (Śląskie Voivodeship) cannot use the network water supply. Sanepid detected enterococcal bacteria in samples. Water is not suitable for consumption even after boiling. Barrels were delivered.
According to the Provincial Crisis Management Center in Katowice, the problem concerns over three thousand inhabitants of three towns in the municipalities of Kochanowice: Kochcice, Jawornica and Lubecko, which are supplied by the Kochcice network water supply.
According to the State Poviat Sanitary Inspector in Lubliniec, in recent days seven water samples for laboratory tests from the Kochcice network water supply have been taken, three of them showed the presence of enterococci.
Water from the Kochcice water supply network is not suitable for consumption, preparing drinks and dishes, washing fruit and vegetables, washing kitchen utensils and brushing of teeth. It can only be used to flush toilets.
“The quality of water in the Kochcice water supply network remains under increased sanitary supervision, will be monitored on an ongoing basis by the State Poviat Sanitary Inspector in Lubliniec until the correct results of the tests are obtained,” WCZK told.
Barrel
The residents using the intake in Kochcice Kochanowice provides water with barrels, determining several distribution places. They are indicated on side of the commune. Residents who report such a need can receive water for farm animals from firefighters from the TSO.
Representatives of the Kochanowice commune asked residents who cannot use water from the network to use bottled water to drink. The one supplied with barrels is suitable for drinking after boiling and for preparing meals and washing. They appealed for rational use of water and tracking messages.
