Kojima Productions’ hamfisted cover-up helps to substantiate Overdose leak

After Tom Henderson of tryhardguides.com printed an article reporting the existence of a new Hideo Kojima game in development under the title Overdose, he says Kojima Productions made contact, requesting he take it down (through Kotaku). Henderson declined. In dialog with Kotaku, Henderson stated that the request got here with a proposal to work with him after they can share extra, presumably as soon as the sport is able to be formally introduced.

Henderson’s report goes on to focus on particulars of the leaked footage he acquired from the sport that apparently options Death Stranding actress Margaret Qualley. Henderson describes Qualley, who performed the bespectacled Mama in Demise Stranding, working by a darkish hallway with a flashlight. There’s a bounce scare, then the display cuts to textual content that claims “GAMEOVER”. Henderson later tweeted that his interplay with Kojima Productions wasn’t antagonistic and so they have been “very understanding all issues thought of.” The corporate has not but issued a proper assertion on the matter.

With this supposed leak, that is the second time a Hideo Kojima joint has been revealed earlier than its time. Again in Could, Norman Reedus, star of Demise Stranding, appeared to confirm the existence of its sequel in an interview with Leo magazine.

“It takes loads of work,” Reedus stated of Demise Stranding. “After which the sport got here out, and it simply gained all these awards, and it was an enormous factor, so we simply began half two of that.”

Each these leaks are coincidentally timed as Kojima’s best friend Geoff Keighley is about to start out his not-quite-E3 event Summer Game Fest going down June 9-12. Kojima shouldn’t be scheduled to attend the occasion, and Keighley himself has urged followers to “manage their expectations” in opposition to large, shock reveals. Then once more, with Kojima’s quirkiness, one can by no means inform.
