Road workers have signed a contract for the design and construction of the Kołbiel bypass along the national road No. 50. More than 11 km long section in terms of expressway parameters is to be ready in 2025.
According to the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, PUT Intercor was the contractor for the investment, and the contract worth approximately PLN 342 million is to be implemented within 36 months from the date of its conclusion.

“The contractor’s task is to develop a construction design, obtain the necessary decisions and build a road. At the latest 10 months after the conclusion of the contract, the contractor is to submit an application for a decision on a road investment permit (ZRID). winter breaks, from December 16 to March 15 “- GDDKiA reported.
The completion of all works is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025.
– The contract signed today is already the 44th this year. As a result, 44 tasks with a total length of over 537 km and a value of approximately PLN 16.2 billion have passed to the implementation phase – said Tomasz Żuchowski, quoted in the announcement of the General Director of National Roads and Motorways.
According to the GDDKiA information, the 11.3 km long route will run on the northern side of the town, through the area of Otwock poviat (in the Kołbiel commune) and Mińsk poviat (in the Mińsk Mazowiecki commune). The new GP class road – i.e. the main accelerated traffic road – will have two roadways with two traffic lanes.
The management also announced that engineering facilities, pavements, roads to support adjacent areas, environmental protection and road safety devices will be built.
“The most important effect of the construction of the Kołbiel bypass will be the evacuation of transit traffic, which is currently on the national road No. 50” – indicated.
Kołbiel is a town in the Otwock district, located at the intersection of the popular S17 route from Warsaw to Lublin and the national road No. 50. Its bypass has been a long-awaited investment due to the bothersome traffic jams in this place. There have also been many serious accidents here.
