The man was so drunk that “the breathalyzer ran out of scale.” Before he was examined and detained by the police, he drove the car to the side of the road and hung on a stone. He allegedly told the police that he was “coming back from a friend’s house and doesn’t know where he is because he is drunk.” Now he faces up to five years in prison.
As the District Police Headquarters in Kolno said in a press release, on Monday evening the officers received a report that in Danowo “a passenger car had driven to the side of the road and was hanging on a rock, with two drunk men sleeping inside.” When the police arrived at the scene, they saw a car with its engine and lights on. “Behind the wheel of the vehicle was a man wearing a seat belt, and the officers immediately smelled alcohol,” the release said.

Police: the breathalyzer lacked a scale
A breathalyzer test showed that the 52-year-old had over four per mille of alcohol in his body. “Exact measurement was not possible due to the device’s scale being exceeded,” the police said. Moreover, it turned out that the man had a court driving ban valid until July 2025. “In a conversation with the police (…) he said that he was coming back from a friend’s house and he didn’t know where he was because he was drunk,” the uniform said. The 52-year-old was arrested. The next day he was charged, and now he faces up to five years in prison.
