Parking for residents of the new block in Kołobrzeg (West Pomeranian Voivodeship) is located 2.5 kilometers from the apartments. And although the investor argues that the construction was carried out in accordance with the law, the residents do not use the car park. To do this, they would have to walk more than half an hour one way.

The block was erected at Młyńska Street in Kołobrzeg. The investor was also obliged to build a car park and created one – with over 200 parking spaces – on Neptuna Street, 2.5 kilometers away. All because the regulations do not specify the distance between the block and the parking lot for residents.

– Not everyone is jogging. There will be pregnant women and people with disabilities among the residents – said one of the residents about the parking lot in December 2021 on Telewizja Kablowa Kołobrzeg.

Now, when tenants have moved into the block, the neighbors say that there are so many cars that it is impossible to leave the estate. – It is tragic – one of the women tells the TVN24 reporter. “It’s strange for me to allow something like this,” he adds.

According to the neighboring apartment, no one will leave the car 2.5 kilometers from the apartment. “There is no such possibility,” he says.

Officials: construction in accordance with the law

As we read in the statement sent to us by the developer’s attorney, the construction was carried out in accordance with the law.

“(…) the investment in question was carried out on the basis of the final building permit decision issued by the Kołobrzeg Starost. As part of the administrative procedure preceding the issuance of the above-mentioned inspection decision, the issues related to the placement of sites were also discussed. It is worth mentioning here that the decision was also inspected by the competent services of the West Pomeranian Voivode, which did not notice any irregularities “- wrote advocate Adam Witaszek.

The version of the developer’s attorney is also confirmed by officials.

– On the basis of the Construction Law, before issuing a building permit, we check the compliance of a given investment with the provisions of the local spatial development plan. The author of such a plan is the president of the City of Kołobrzeg and the plan was adopted by the councilors of the Kołobrzeg City Council – says Marlena Wachowska, spokeswoman for the District Office in Kołobrzeg.

In turn, Michał Kujaczyński, spokesman for the city of Kołobrzeg, claims that “the interpretation of the plan belongs to the poviat starosty”. – There are experts sitting there who interpret this plan according to their knowledge – he adds.

The parking lot was built in accordance with the law, but it is still empty, because it is not profitable for residents to use it.
