The leader of AgroUnia, Michał Kołodziejczak, running from the KO list, won over 30,000 votes and secured a seat in the Sejm. Although he lost to PiS leader Zbigniew Hoffman, he achieved a good result for Donald Tusk’s party in difficult terrain.
The counting of votes in the parliamentary elections to the Sejm and Senate is still ongoing. The election results in district number 37 published by the National Electoral Commission include data from 507 out of 650 (78%) district electoral commissions for the Sejm.
District No. 37 covers the poviats of Gniezno, Koło, Konin, Słupca, Średzki, Śrem, Turek and Wrzesiński, as well as the city of Konin. There are 9 parliamentary seats up for grabs.

The leader of “Agrounia”, Michał Kołodziejczak, known for his violent character, quite unexpectedly became the leader of the Civic Coalition in the Konin district. Donald Tusk risked a lot by betting on a controversial activist. He hoped that the farmers’ leader would take PiS votes. And Kołodziejczak achieved a surprisingly good result – 30,463 people voted for him. And the number of votes cast for the leader of AgroUnia will certainly increase even more, because we are still waiting for votes from 143 committees.

However, the clear leader in the Konin district is PiS, which received the support of 42.06 percent of voters. The leader of the list – Zbigniew Hoffmann, won 37,137 votes. PiS can count on four or five seats, depending on how the votes are ultimately distributed.
KO came in second place with 21.22%. voters’ votes. KO may win two or three seats.
Trzecia Droga also achieved a good result, with 48,862 votes cast, which gives the party of Hołownia and Kosiniak-Kamysz 16.20 percent. support. Paulina Henning-Kloska, who won 17,815 votes, has a chance to win the seat.
The Left, which gained the support of 26,679 people, can also win one seat. The leader of the list, Tadeusz Tomaszewski, received the most votes – 10,320.
In the previous parliamentary elections in 2019, Law and Justice won five out of nine parliamentary seats, KO won two, PSL and SLD one each. If the opposition manages to wrest at least one seat from PiS, it will be able to call it a success. Although it is not known at the moment which group will be able to take credit for this success.
