During the works taking place at Walentynowicz Street in Konstancin-Jeziorna, the gas pipeline was interrupted. The management of a nearby facility decided to evacuate the children. The fire brigade secured the leak, then the gas emergency service took over the matter. The situation is under control.
– The building of a nearby nursery and kindergarten was evacuated. The gas leak has stopped, so the place is now safe. However, children will probably not return to the facility because they are picked up by their parents. The facility will probably be closed today. There are no injuries – said senior sergeant. Magdalena Gąsowska from the District Police Headquarters in Piaseczno.
Tomasz Zieliński, a reporter for tvnwarszawa.pl, was on site. – A gas line was broken in the trench, the damage is minor. The gas emergency service closed the gas pipe. The kindergarten and nursery were evacuated. Parents pick up their children from the meeting point. The police are securing the scene of the incident, he reported.
The fire brigade received a report about the incident at 9.10. Five crews were dispatched to the site. Firefighters clamped the gas pipe to prevent leakage, said Junior Brig. Łukasz Darmofalski from the fire brigade in Piaseczno. The pipe was then secured by the gas emergency service.
