Police officers from the Police Station in Kórnik detained a man suspected of night devastation in the city. He pulled flowers, knocked over and destroyed Easter decorations, but that’s not all – as it turned out, the man had previously robbed the local church. Now he faces up to 5 years in prison.

On April 18, police officers from the Police Station in Kórnik detained a man suspected of damaging property.

– The incident took place two days earlier on Plac Niepodległości in Kórnik. That night, the perpetrator made a lot of damage, among others, he tore out the stand of Easter decorations and paving slabs in the area of ​​the market square, knocked over garbage cans, pulled out flowers, spilled soil from city pots and damaged the handrails of the stairs from a private apartment – lists the junior aspirant Marta Mróz from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Poznań.

However, this is not the end of his exploits. According to the police, it was also related to other crimes that took place in Kórnik in recent months.

He robbed the Kórnik church

The 48-year-old targeted the local church. Robbed him regularly since last December of everything metal.

– He dismantled copper gutters and handles from the façade of the church building in order to sell them. During this procedure, he additionally damaged elements of the cable installation and lighting lamps, thus causing total losses of nearly PLN 20,000, Mróz reports.

The 48-year-old man was charged with two charges. He confessed to committing them. Now he faces up to 5 years in prison.
