Tusk emphasized that “the absolutely basic raw material, that is flour, is almost 100 percent more expensive than in August”. – Mr. Robert (the owner of the bakery – editor) made me realize that then he was paying PLN 1,200 per ton, and now he is paying over PLN 2,000. The gas is roughly 300 percent more. In zlotys, it means an absolute drama – the PO chairman enumerated.

As Tusk said, “the bakery in Kościan is a small establishment”. – 13 people work here, but after the increase in gas prices, this calculation ceases to bind. Either bread will be more expensive or people would have to lose their jobs, he said.

Tusk on “the essence of the problem” regarding gas prices

Asked by journalists what the recipe for this situation is, the PO chairman said that he had been talking to experts for many days. – We are trying to decipher this puzzle, what is it that in Poland these gas price increases are actually the highest in Europe. There are too many gloomy secrets here – said Tusk.

– I appeal to the rulers and those responsible for gas policy, including PGNiG, to be honest about what happened that today it is necessary to guarantee PLN 60 billion for PGNIG, and yet these increases are still so devastating – he added.

– What is the essence of the problem is revealing the whole truth about what PGNIG does with this money. Is it true that they played like a casino, played on the financial markets and lost billions of zlotys on it? Do we have to pay for it? Tusk wondered.
