A man who drove a combine harvester from a field to a drainage ditch in Kosin in the Lublin region died – informed the fire brigade from Kraśnik. “The driver of the machine was under water, he was unable to leave the machine on his own” – firefighters said.
The Poviat Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Kraśnik reported that the accident during field work took place on Saturday afternoon in Kosin (Annopol commune, Lubelskie Voivodeship). An approximately 60-year-old man driving a combine harvester drove into a drainage ditch for unknown reasons, and the vehicle overturned onto its roof.
“The driver of the machine was under water, he was unable to leave the machine on his own. The man was extracted by witnesses of the event and police officers who started resuscitation” – wrote on Facebook of the KP PSP in Kraśnik.
The man was helped by the medical rescue team and the crew of the Polish Medical Air Rescue who arrived at the scene, but his life could not be saved. Firefighters from Kraśnik and volunteer firefighters from Annopol and Borów also intervened at the scene. The causes of the accident are being investigated by the police under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office.
