Koszalin. Fake Australian dollars, man arrested

Police officers from Koszalin seized 93 fake coins with a face value of one Australian dollar. They also detained a 40-year-old man who, pretending to be a woman, was allegedly selling counterfeits at online auctions.

A 40-year-old resident of the Lubusz Voivodeship sold collector coins with a face value of one Australian dollar and a fineness of 999 silver on various auction websites.

However, the Koszalin police determined that they were fake. The coins were to be minted from a different copper-colored alloy.

He defrauded at least 30 people

During a search of the man's apartment, officers seized 93 counterfeit coins with a face value of one Australian dollar. Criminal investigators also found that the 40-year-old was impersonating a woman while selling fake items.

According to the Koszalin police, the man allegedly defrauded at least 30 people in this way. But there may be more victims, the case is developing. The 40-year-old has already heard prosecutor's charges, for which he faces up to eight years in prison.
