Wałbrzych could receive around six hundred or seven hundred million zlotys – said Roman Szełemej, the president of Wałbrzych, on TVN24 BiS, referring to the funds from the National Reconstruction Plan. “But the money isn’t there,” he said. He explained that the money could be spent on the revitalization of public space, thermal modernization of buildings and post-mining facilities.
June 1, 2022 Polish National Reconstruction Plan has been approved by the European Commission. Two weeks later, the KPO was approved by the EU Council. So far, however, not even a euro has reached Poland due to reservations regarding the implementation of the so-called milestones concerning, among others, the rule of law.
It is about a total of over EUR 35 billion in the form of subsidies and preferential loans from the EU fund for economic recovery after the pandemic.
