In May, Kraków Airport – for the first time in its history – served one million passengers in a month. According to forecasts, a record 10 million travelers will use the services of the Krakow airport throughout this year, the airport press office reported on Friday.

As reported, the millionth passenger in May was checked in on Friday, the last day of the month. It turned out to be Mrs. Alicja. The president of Kraków Airport, Radosław Włoszek, emphasized that the airport still operates in an extremely complicated international situation. – We are even more proud of today's record. It was the passengers' passion for flying that revived air traffic in Poland and around the world (…). Thanks to the joint work of the Krakow airport team, goals that were previously unrealistic have become a reality – commented the president of the airport.

An argument for investment

The president of the airport reminded that passenger traffic forecasts for this year assume exceeding the threshold of 10 million passengers served. Such a large passenger traffic – said the Italian – is another argument for the need to implement the necessary investments, the most important of which is the construction of a new runway and the expansion of the passenger terminal. Kraków Airport is the second airport in Poland in terms of the number of passengers served and the largest regional airport. Last year, the airport achieved record results, serving over 9.4 million travelers. In the spring and summer route network, it has over 150 regular connections to 33 countries, operated by 26 airlines.
