A 46-year-old man traveling from Krakow to Houston had 40 live ammunition in his luggage. He did not board the plane. He was charged in the Prądnicki District Prosecutor's Office with possession of a firearm or ammunition without a required permit.
Information about the arrest of an American at Balice airport Border Guard reported on Friday. The man was supposed to fly to USA private plane.
– During his inspection hand luggage Airport Security Service employees found 40 pieces of 9-millimeter live ammunition – informed Warrant Officer Tomasz Jarosz from the press team of the Carpathian Border Guard Division.
He confessed, but did not provide any explanation.
The man was detained by the Border Guard. He was charged with possession of a firearm or ammunition without a required permit. The foreigner admitted to the act and refused to provide an explanation.
After being brought to the District Prosecutor's Office of Kraków-Prądnik Biały, the 46-year-old declared voluntary submission to punishment. He received a fine of PLN 10,000 and had to cover the costs associated with the proceedings.
