The court convicted an aggressive passenger who fought on board the plane. The man did not listen to the on -board staff instructions, the machine had to land in Rzeszów.

The incident occurred on June 30, 2024 on board a plane flying from Glasgow to Krakow. Due to the aggressive behavior of one of the passengers, the aircraft had to land in an emergency in Rzeszów, where a man causing problems was removed from the deck. There were 191 passengers and six crew members on board.

Over a year after the incident, on May 27, 2025, the District Court in Krakow issued a judgment in this case. Mateusz T. was convicted of, among others for a crime under Article 211 para. 1 of the Aviation Law, which consists in posing a threat to passengers and on -board staff threats through aggressive behavior and not taking the instructions of the aircraft commander.

“The man was sentenced, among others, to a total penalty of 9 months imprisonment with a conditional suspension of its execution for a period of 3 years. In addition, a criminal measure was ordered to make a public judgment.

The ruling – as the spokeswoman emphasized – is the result of the actions of the prosecutor's office and officers of the Border Guard facility in Krakow, who are working on reducing the number of similar incidents during cruise flights. They expose passengers and on -board staff to danger, and often end with the need to turn back a plane or an emergency landing.

Zero tolerance

A representative of the carrier, on board of which the incident occurred, is satisfied with the sentence.
