Krakow, ul. Shepherd. Car and motorcycle accident, drivers were drunk

A car and a motorcycle collided on Pasternik Street in Krakow (Małopolskie Voivodeship). When the police arrived, they found both drivers drunk. One of them had almost five times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

The accident happened on Saturday evening. According to Piotr Szpiech, spokesman for the Krakow city headquarters, according to preliminary findings, the 56-year-old driver of the Honda passenger car did not give way. The back of his car was hit by a 26-year-old on a motorcycle of the same brand.

– The examination showed that both drivers were under the influence of alcohol. The motorcyclist had nearly 1.4 per mille, and the car driver had almost five per mille, reports Szpiech.

No one was injured in the incident, and the disruption to other drivers did not last long, according to police. Both men will now face trial for driving while intoxicated. It is punishable by up to two years in prison.

Article. 178a of the criminal code. § 1. Who, while intoxicated or under the influence of a narcotic, drives a motor vehicle in land, water or air traffic, is subject to a fine, the penalty of restriction of liberty or imprisonment for 2 years.
