A 55-year-old nurse came drunk to work in one of the medical facilities in Kraśnik (Lubelskie Voivodeship). The police reported that the woman had 2.5 per mille of alcohol in her system. She has already heard the accusation of performing professional activities while intoxicated.

The case was reported by junior aspirant Paweł Cieliczko from the District Police Headquarters in Kraśnik. As he said, in recent days they received a report from a medical facility in the city that one of the nurses may be under the influence of alcohol at work.

– During the intervention, officers tested a 55-year-old woman with a breathalyzer. The test result confirmed that the woman is drunk and has more than 2.5 per mille of alcohol in her body, the uniformed officer said.

The nurse was charged with undertaking professional activities while intoxicated, which is punishable by a high fine or imprisonment. The woman pleaded guilty.

– The findings so far do not indicate that until the intervention, her irresponsible behavior put patients at risk of loss of life or health, which in turn would constitute a crime punishable by three years in prison – informed the police officer.
