– Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to talk to the digital ministers of all European Union countries. There it was clearly stated that today Poland is on the front line of the cyber fight Russia. Despite the fact that these attacks focus on different countries, most of these attacks occur in Poland, said Krzysztof Gawkowski.

“Security has been breached”

The Minister of Digital Affairs also referred to the hacker attack on PAP, as a result of which a message from outside PAP with false content about alleged military mobilization in Poland appeared on the Agency's website. He emphasized that the attempted disinformation was debunked within a few minutes. – Today, we have full knowledge thanks to the support of the Internal Security Agency (…) that security was breached using malicious software, which (…) was used on the account of one of the PAP employees – he explained. According to Gawkowski, the infiltration was targeted and intended to cause panic and “disrupt the system.” – The system defended itself. It is worth thanking all journalists and editorial offices for acting responsibly and checking this information, Gawkowski noted.
