Finally with a decent team and finally with good jumps from Poles – this is how the summer series competitions in Hinzenbach end. Although coach Thomas Thurnbichler's players didn't do well on Saturday, they were the best Kubacki was only ninth – on Sunday they definitely improved and fought for positions in the lead. It's a pity that in the end you're left unsatisfied after the weaker finale series in their performance.

Already after the first series Dawid Kubacki he took third place after a jump of 89 meters. Three points behind him, in fourth place, was Paweł Wąsek, who scored 88 meters. Only Austrian Jan Hoerl and German Andreas Wellinger (both 92 meters) were ahead of them, with a clear, almost seven-point advantage.
It seemed that Kubacki and Wąsek would be ready to maintain their positions and fight for the podium despite the pressure of strong rivals – including Stefan Kraft (twice 87 meters) and Daniel Tschofenig (twice 88 meters). Unfortunately, both dropped down the standings after poor attempts. Kubacki only gained 84 meters and finished the competition in sixth place, while Wąsek landed two meters further and was just ahead of his teammate, in fifth place.
The competition was won by Andreas Wellinger, who jumped 87 meters in the final series. The German was 0.9 points ahead of Jan Hoerl, who, although he landed half a meter further from his rival and had an advantage after the first series, in the second series he jumped in slightly more favorable conditions and in a better style. Stefan Kraft completed the podium.

Apart from Kubacki and Wąsek, two more Poles competed in Hinzenbach. Jakub Wolny (twice, 85.5 meters) scored points for fifteenth place, and Kacper Juroszek (82.5 meters) failed to advance to the second series and finished the competition in 38th place.
On the positive side: the two Poles were in the fight for the podium in the competition, where only Norwegians were actually missing from the starting list among the best. In such circumstances results Wąsk and Kubacki are happy and really have a positive meaning. Of course, we should not draw any conclusions from them, but it can be satisfying that compared to the best, the Poles finally did not look as bad as in Wisła, and they counted in the game for the top places.
Especially since the last stretch until winter begins. This is the penultimate weekend of the Summer Grand Prix series. There will still be competition in Klingenthal, Germany, where one individual and one mixed competition are scheduled for October 5-6.
