On Wednesday, an air incident involving a MiG-29 aircraft occurred near Kurów Braniewski (Elbląg poviat), informed the General Command of the Armed Forces.

According to the description in the announcement, the incident occurred before 6 p.m. During a training flight on a MiG-29 aircraft from the 22nd Tactical Air Base, a fuel tank was lost.

“The tank was empty, it fell several hundred meters from the buildings. Initial findings show that the pilots' actions were in accordance with applicable procedures. No one was injured as a result of the incident,” it was noted.

Major Maciej Kędzierski, press officer of the 22nd Tactical Air Base in Malbork, announced that the tank had been found. the machine landed safely and the pilots were unharmed. He added that the tank fell away from the buildings in Kurowo Braniewskie.

In accordance with the procedures applicable in such cases, the circumstances and causes of the incident will be explained to the State Aviation Accident Investigation Commission.
