A shop steward who reported to work at one of the electoral commissions in the commune of Kurzętnik (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship) had more than two per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air. The committee members called the police.

– The police prepared documentation for the court in this case, elections in this premises, they run smoothly – informs Rafał Jackowski from the press team of the Warmian-Masurian Police.

This is about a shop steward who came to work drunk at one of the electoral commissions in the Kurzętnik commune.

He may face arrest or a fine

When uniformed officers called by members of the electoral commission arrived on site, it turned out that the man had over two per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air.

He will answer in court under Art. 70 of the Code of Petty Offenses, which states: “who, contrary to the obligation to maintain sobriety, is under the influence of alcohol, a narcotic drug or another substance or substance with a similar effect and undertakes professional or official activities in this state.”

This may result in imprisonment or a fine.

Voting will last until 21

Voting in the European Parliament elections, in which 53 MEPs are elected from 1,019 candidates, began on Sunday at 7 am. Until voting ends at 21 there is an election silence.

28 million 952 thousand people are entitled to vote in Poland. 443 voters; elections are held in 31,830 voting districts, of which 29,735 are permanent and 1,789 are separate. 299 voting districts were established abroad, and 7 on ships.

720 deputies will be elected

Electoral lists were issued by 11 committees, of which seven registered candidates in all 13 districts. Trzecia Droga is running with list No. 1 in the European Parliament elections, with List No. 2 Confederationfrom No. 3 Nonpartyjni Samorządowcy, from No. 4 Polexit, from No. 5 Civic Coalition, from No. 6 Lewica, from No. 7 Law and Justice.

Citizens of 27 Member States will elect 720 MEPs of the European Parliament. On the fourth and final day of the European Parliament elections, voting takes place in 21 European countries.
