The police are looking for a person who abandoned a cardboard box with three puppies near Objazdowa Street in Kutno (Łódź Voivodeship). The animals quickly found new homes, were taken in by the officers and their superior who were called to the place.
On Monday morning, a notification was received by the district police headquarters in Kutno about three puppies running at Objazdowa Street. A police patrol was sent to the scene. Deputy commissioner Edyta Machnik from the press office of the Kutno command tells in an interview with tvn24.pl that the uniform found three tiny dogs on the spot.
What threatens the owner of abandoned dogs
There was also a cardboard box lined with cloth in the bushes nearby. Despite attempts to determine the circumstances of the abandonment of the dogs, the officers on that day did not manage to reach the irresponsible owner of the animals – says the subcommands. Machnik.
For abandoning dogs, their former owner may face up to three years in prison.
– Kutnów policemen will now explain all the circumstances in which these puppies were abandoned, and the perpetrator has to take into account the legal consequences – says a spokeswoman for the district headquarters.
The animals were not brought to the shelter. Their fate was taken over by the intervening policemen.
– The dogs stole the hearts of the policemen from Kutno and on the same day two of them went to the homes of the policeman and policewoman who were at the intervention – says the spokeswoman.
