Heavy rainfall was hit by Kuwait. It rained so abundantly that it was necessary to cancel some flights. About 30 accidents occurred through difficult road conditions.
Due to the wave of heavy rainfall, the incoming and leaving Kuwait flights were briefly suspended on Saturday – said the Associated Press press agency. Heavy rainfall was associated with the low pressure system, which brushed against the country. Most rain fell in the city of Sabah al-Ahmad. There, firefighters had their hands full, pumping water from flooded streets and houses.
The downpour caused the road conditions to be difficult, there were about 30 accidents. Nobody was injured in them, according to the Indiancuwawait.com portal.
Delays and redirects
Data from platforms tracking flights have shown that some planes turned back or set a different course, while those located in Kuwait had delayed starts. The flights were resumed around 11 o'clock local time (there was 9 o'clock in Poland at the time). The Arab Times reported that some flights were redirected to Saudi Arabia.
The international airport in Kuwait, temporarily closed on Saturday, located on the outskirts of the city of Kuwait is the main airport of the country.
