A delivery truck with 42 foreigners in the cargo area was stopped by the police in Lubicz Dolny near Toruń (Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship). The destination of these people is not known yet, but the Polish woman who was driving the car was detained for clarification.
– During a roadside inspection, it turned out that 42 people traveled in the cargo area in a Peugeot Boxer car. They are all foreigners. They are 31 men, six women and five children. Around 2.30 p.m. they were stopped on the S10 route – on the lane towards Toruń. They were traveling from Warsaw – said the spokesman of the Toruń police, subinsp. Wioletta Dąbrowska.
The nationality of these people is being verified. The car was driven by a Polish woman who was detained.
“Two people went to hospitals”
– The woman driving the vehicle was stopped. We will be checking its version of events. The nature of the allegation depends, inter alia, on this. A lot of things are to be verified. Expert translators will certainly be needed – she emphasized.
The police have not yet established the purpose of the foreigners’ journey. It is also not known how they came to Poland. The Civil Protection Department of the Toruń City Hall and the poviat starosty are working to ensure that foreigners find themselves in a safe place.
– You have to provide them with meals, drinks, a warm place to stay. Two people were sent to hospitals in Toruń. She is a 25-year-old woman and an approximately 30-year-old man. The mother with a seven-year-old child was also taken for observation, but after the tests they could return to the group – emphasized the Chief Inspector. Dąbrowska.
At the moment, the police are not revealing more detailed information on this matter. Activities aimed at clarifying all circumstances are carried out all the time under the supervision of the prosecutor.
