The police have detained a 32-year-old from the Łabunie commune (Lublin Province), who will be held accountable, among other things, for making criminal threats against his 26-year-old wife. According to the findings, the man took out a gas pistol and threatened to kill her. Drugs were also found on him.
There were two reports of this incident. On the night of Thursday to Friday (September 6), the police were first called by a resident of Zamość, saying that her husband was threatening her. Later, a neighbor who had heard a loud argument asked for help.
The officers found a shaken woman in the apartment.
Police: He took an object resembling a weapon out of his back pocket
“The 26-year-old explained that her husband, with whom she had not lived together for several years, came to her apartment. From the beginning he was aggressive, shouting vulgarities at her, and later he took an object resembling a gun out of his back pocket and, aiming it at her, said he would kill her,” wrote Staff Sergeant Dorota Krukowska-Bubiło from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Zamość in a statement.
Eventually, the man left the apartment and drove away in a BMW in an unknown direction. The officers stopped him early Friday morning. He is a 32-year-old from the Łabunie commune.
Dried hemp herb and amphetamine
In the car he was using, officers found a gas weapon and dried cannabis herb other than fibrous. In the man's place of residence, there was a white powder, which after testing with a narcotics test turned out to be amphetamine.
The 32-year-old was arrested and taken to police custody. On Saturday, he was charged with making threats to kill and cause bodily harm to his wife using an object resembling a weapon. He will also be held accountable for possession of marijuana and amphetamines and will face the consequences of driving despite having his driving license revoked.
Ban on approaching the injured party
“The suspect was placed under police supervision. The prosecutor also imposed a ban on the 32-year-old from contacting or approaching the injured party, as well as a ban on staying at her place of residence,” informs Senior Warrant Officer Krukowska-Bubiło.
He reminds that making criminal threats against another person is punishable by three years in prison.
“The Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction provides for the same penalty for possession of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances,” the policewoman notes.
