The Jaworzno local government confirmed the purchase of real estate in the Jaworzno Economic Area by ElectroMobility Poland (EMP), said the city’s president, Paweł Silbert. He also announced that the area would be developed.

Then, the President of Jaworzno submitted a request to the Parliamentary Committee for Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry to issue a positive opinion on whether the entity applying for the purchase of land completes, among others: provisions of the special act regarding the type of activity conducted and the purpose of the project. On Monday, President Silbert published information about the finalization of the transaction on his Facebook profile. “Today (November 13), we finally confirmed the purchase of real estate in the Jaworzno Economic Area by ElectroMobility Poland. As a result, the amount of PLN 128 million was transferred to the account of the city of Jaworzno,” he said.
“What’s next? The EMP company will carry out work related to the commencement of the construction of an electric car factory. For the PLN 100 million obtained from government funds, the commune will begin the construction of a water and sewage network and a water treatment plant in the areas after the Jan Kanty mine. Another PLN 250 million from external funds, will be allocated for the full development of JOG investment areas,” he added.

He also thanked the partners, including KSSE and his colleagues, for the “effective implementation of the entire project”.
The offer for the purchase of real estate, submitted by the company implementing the project of the Polish brand of electric cars Izera, was the only one in the tender procedure in Jaworzno and KSEZ. As the investor previously informed, after finalizing the purchase of the land, construction of the plant is to start in early 2024. The production of the Polish electric car is scheduled to start in December 2025, and the first cars will be sold in 2026. Ultimately, the Izera factory in Jaworzno will employ approximately 2.5 thousand people. people.
In the production process, the plant is to use and reflect the achievements of its technological partner – the Chinese automotive group Geely. The cost of building the factory is estimated at PLN 6 billion.

The Jaworzno Economic Area covers areas located near the Jaworzno III Power Plant with a total area of over 300 ha. The Jizera factory will occupy an area of 117 ha. Currently, further elements of the JOG development plan are being implemented, including providing the zone with the necessary utilities: water, sewage, electricity, gas and roads. The commune obtained PLN 100 million from government funds for the water and sewage infrastructure of the area and PLN 250 million for the construction of the JOG road system.
ElectroMobility Poland was established in October 2016 and was an initiative of four Polish energy companies: PGE, Energa, Enea and Tauron. Currently, the majority shareholder of the company is the State Treasury – it has 90.8 percent. shares; the remaining shareholders have 2.3 percent each.
