Four people were injured in Sunday’s collision of a police car closing the government column with a passenger Mazda in Czajki (Podlaskie Voivodeship). These are two policemen and two people from Mazda, the Podlasie police said on Monday. The circumstances of the event are explained.

“We have information about two injured people from Mazda: a 42-year-old and a 17-year-old. Two injured policemen, that is, four people in total” – reported the press team of the Podlasie police. All these people were hospitalized after the accident. One of the injured policemen underwent surgery.

On Sunday, the police reported on social media that no one except the policemen from the police car from the government column was injured, and “the safety of the transported people has been preserved”. She did not say who was in the column. On that day, the Prime Minister visited Podlasie Mateusz Morawiecki and head of the Ministry of National Defence Mariusz Blaszczak.

On Sunday, the policemen injured in the accident in Czajki were visited by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, the Polish Press Agency found out from sources close to the government.

The accident happened around 3 p.m. on Sunday in Czajki (Wyso-Mazowiecki poviat). Police reported that a Mazda passenger car drove head-on into a police car that was closing the column of government vehicles. “There is no indication of deliberate action – the driver of the Mazda, driving from the opposite direction, lost control of her car,” police said.

Police officers were the most injured in the collision.

Agnieszka Zaremba, the press officer of the poviat police headquarters in Wysokie Mazowieckie, informed that the police car closed the column of vehicles of the State Protection Service.
