A large fire broke out in a multi-family building in Latchorzew, in the western district of Warsaw. The attic and roof were burned down. The fire department reported that the residents had managed to evacuate.
As reported by Damian Dolniak from the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in the West Warsaw District, the fire broke out on Olimpijska Street in Latchorzewo, in a multi-family building on the second floor. – The fire quickly spread to the attic and roof of the building. At the moment, the situation is under control. The extinguishing work has begun, which will last many hours – said the firefighter at around 3 p.m.
– The building's residents evacuated before the rescuers arrived. One person suffered minor smoke inhalation. They were taken to hospital for tests – Dolniak said. – Firefighters saved three cats and one dog from the burning building – he added.
He indicated that the roof of the building was almost completely burned down. A total of 30 fire brigades from the Warsaw West district and Warsaw were dispatched to extinguish the fire. Due to the dense development, access for fire trucks with ladders was seriously hampered.
