Lebanon's Hezbollah said Sunday morning it had launched an attack on Israel in response to the death of a senior military commander who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut on July 30. Israel's Defense Ministry declared a state of emergency.
The Israeli Defense Ministry announced state of emergency throughout the country for the next 48 hours. As reported by the Times of Israel, due to the threat from the direction Lebanon all emergency services were put on high alert.
Hezbollah attack on Israel
Hezbollah said in a press release that it “launched an airstrike using a large number of drones” against To Israelparticularly against a “significant military target” which he did not identify.
Hezbollah said it hit 11 Israeli military facilities, fired more than 320 rockets and sent drones toward northern Israel, Reuters reported.
The Israeli army said it counted “more than 150 missiles” fired from Lebanon towards Israel.
Earlier, the Israeli army announced it would carry out preventive strikes in Lebanon after detecting preparations by the armed movement Hezbollah, an ally of the Palestinian Hamas, to carry out “large-scale attacks” against Israel.
