The Lebanese army said its soldiers fired warning shots at “armed intruders” who were trying to enter the country by crossing the Syrian border.
The Lebanese army said on Tuesday it fired warning shots after armed Syrians crossed the border and approached a military border post. Warning shots forced the group back to Syria – says the army.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Lebanese socialist party PSP appealed to state institutions not to allow a situation in which Lebanon it will become a refuge for Syrians associated with the regime of deposed president Bashar al-Assad.

PSP warns neighboring countries
The PSP warns in a statement that accepting those responsible for numerous crimes of the Assad regime could mean dangerous “legal and political repercussions” for Lebanon.
After 13 years of civil war, Syrian fighters, mainly the Islamist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), announced on Sunday morning the capture of the country's capital, Damascus, and the fall of the Assad family, which had ruled Syria for over 50 years.
