In Lębork (Pomorskie), a pendolino drove over a woman lying along the tracks. The driver tried to brake, but due to speed he stopped the train several dozen meters away. – The 49-year-old suffered head and shoulder injuries, but her life is not in danger – informs the police.
The incident took place on Thursday on the tracks at Kolejarzy Street in Lębork. The services received the notification around 20.30. – According to the initial findings of the officers, the driver of the pendolino train from Kraków to Kołobrzeg noticed a person lying on the tracks and tried to brake the train. Due to the speed of the train, it stopped several dozen meters away – says Marta Szałkowska, press officer of the Poviat Police Headquarters in Lębork.
“Her life is not in danger”
She adds that a 49-year-old resident of Lębork suffered head and shoulder injuries, but her life is not in danger. – The woman was taken to the hospital – says Szałkowska.
The woman’s blood was taken for alcohol testing. The train driver was sober. The circumstances of the accident are being explained by the police from Lębork.
