The policemen stood in Łęczna (Lubelskie Voivodeship) together with other drivers and waited for the light to change. At that time, they noticed a car that – driving in the left lane – missed the police car and ran a red one. The 41-year-old driver said he didn’t want to stand because he was too hot in the car. It turned out that he was not wearing a seat belt and the technical condition of the car left much to be desired. On the other hand, there was an unattached quad and a gas cylinder on the load box.
Everything happened on Monday (May 29) after 3 pm in Łęczna on the provincial road number 820, where road works are currently being carried out.
Traffic police officers stopped in a marked police car in front of the traffic light and waited for the light to change from red to green. Other vehicles stopped behind them.
He avoided all vehicles in the left lane
“At some point, the officers noticed a Mercedes driver who was avoiding all vehicles in the left lane, including their police car. The driver drove behind the traffic light and continued driving” – writes senior aspirant Magdalena Krasna from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Łęczna in a message.
The officers stopped the car. Behind the wheel was a 41-year-old resident of Łęczna.
“The man was not wearing a seat belt. When asked why he did not comply with the signaling device, he stated that his car did not have air conditioning and would not stand in a traffic jam behind other vehicles” – the policewoman points out.
He refused the mandate
In addition, during the inspection, it turned out that the 41-year-old was carrying an unattached quad and a gas cylinder on the cargo box. The vehicle had a damaged bumper, while leaks of operating fluids were visible on the engine.
The police confiscated the car’s license plate. They gave the manager a mandate. However, the man refused to accept it. The case will then be taken to court soon.
