Two fatal accidents involving pedestrians within a few hours in the Łódź Voivodeship. A 55-year-old man died in Brąszewice near Sieradz after being hit by a passenger car. On the other hand, on the national road 91 near Łęczyca, a truck hit a 60-year-old man.

The first tragic accident took place on Monday (2 January) in the evening in Brąszewice near Sieradz. According to police, a 55-year-old man was hit there.

– Around 8 p.m. on Sieradzka Street in Brąszewice, a 43-year-old woman driving a BMW passenger car hit a 55-year-old resident of this town on the road. The man died on the spot. The driver of the vehicle was sober – describes young asp. Mariola Sucherska from the District Police Headquarters in Sieradz. The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the police under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office.

Another tragic event involving a pedestrian took place in the morning on the national road 91 in Topola Królewska near Łęczyca. According to police, a truck hit a man in his 60s. – The incident happened around 4.40 on the national road 91 towards Gdańsk. Preliminary findings show that a pedestrian entered the road from the ditch on the right side and walked directly in front of the oncoming truck. The man died on the spot. The driver of the car was sober, according to Asp. pcs. Mariusz Kowalski from the Łęczyca police.
