Police officers from Tarnów (Małopolska) received information about a powered paraglider pilot who fell to the ground in the town of Łęg Tarnowski. The man with a spinal injury was taken to hospital.
The report was received by the emergency services on Sunday at about 2 pm – The paraglider lost control and his motorized paraglider fell into an arable field – explains Paweł Klimek, press officer of the Tarnów police.
An investigation by the Commission for Aircraft Accident Investigation
Police and firefighters, as well as an ambulance went there. The rescuers gave the 48-year-old first aid and took him to the hospital, where doctors diagnosed the man with a spinal injury.
The circumstances of the accident are determined by the police. – The paraglider lost control of the aircraft, according to witnesses, as a result of a strong gust of wind – said Klimek. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Commission and the prosecutor were notified about the case.
– A visual inspection was carried out on the spot, and the damaged powered paraglider was secured for further detailed examination. In the case of the accident, an investigation has been initiated which, with the participation of experts in the field of air accidents, will allow to establish all its circumstances – informs the spokesman.
