Two cars collided in Legionowo on Sunday evening. In one of them there were policemen called for an accident. After a collision with another car, an unmarked police car caught fire.

The incident took place around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Piłsudskiego and Sobieskiego streets. – A passenger Mercedes collided with an unmarked BMW police car. The police car caught fire – said Artur Węgrzynowicz, reporter of tvnwarszawa.pl.

Our reporter spoke to Justyna Stopińska, a spokeswoman for the police in Legionowo, who confirmed that an unmarked police car was involved in the incident. – She said that at the time of the collision the car was moving as an emergency vehicle, the police were driving it until the accident. She indicated that the BMW was used by policemen from the Traffic Department of the Police in Legionowo. The drivers were sober. At 7 p.m. there was no information about the injured. Two people traveled in the Mercedes, nothing happened to them. Neither did the policemen – our reporter reported. There were several fire brigades and an ambulance on site.

Węgrzynowicz also spoke about the consequences of the collision: – After the collision, the cars left the road, stopped on the pavement and the bicycle path. The BMW broke the lantern and damaged the beacon. Smoke was pumping from the rear of the police car. The first ones were started by other drivers with their fire extinguishers, then the firefighters joined the action.
