The crossing under the tracks in Legionowo is ready. “The railway viaduct on the Warsaw-Trójmiasto route will increase safety on the railway and facilitate road transport” – PKP PLK praises the investment.

“In Legionowo, a new collision-free intersection was built under the five tracks of the Warsaw – Tricity line. The crossing replaced the existing crossing along Polna and Kwiatowa streets” – informed the railway infrastructure manager PKP PLK in a press release.

No waiting at the gates

The road tunnel is 151 meters long and 13 meters wide. The investment was carried out in cooperation with the local government of Legionowo. There will be more tunnels and viaducts

As part of the next stages of the project “Improvement of safety at the intersections of railway lines and roads”, the authorities of PKP PLK plan to build 25 facilities throughout the country: 10 viaducts, 12 tunnels, two underground passages for pedestrians and a pedestrian and bicycle viaduct. Only in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, a collision-free intersection, apart from Legionowo, is also being built in Pruszków and Celestynów. A pedestrian and bicycle viaduct is being built in Ciechanów, and a road tunnel under the tracks will be built in Teresin. Collision-free intersections have already been built, among others, on Karczunkowska Street in Warsaw, Pruszków, Otwock, Wołomin, Topor and Jasienica Mazowiecka.
