In Great Britain, the search for 27-year-old Małgorzata from Inowrocław (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship), missing in 2006, is underway. According to the Polish prosecutor’s office, the woman was murdered and her body was placed in a suitcase thrown into the Soar River in Leicester.

The resumption of the investigation into the missing Polish woman is related to the receipt by the British of new information from the Polish police. An International Investigation Team has been established in the case, including police officers from the Criminal Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Bydgoszcz.

As a result of joint actions, a 39-year-old Pole was arrested in the Manchester agglomeration, suspected of helping the perpetrator and misleading the judiciary. He was questioned, but due to the lack of evidence, no charges have been brought against him so far, but he has been placed under police supervision.

Polish prosecutor’s office: 27-year-old was murdered

As TVN24 reporter Mariusz Sidorkiewicz reported on Tuesday, Polish investigators have identified the alleged perpetrator of this crime. It is supposed to be a Pole, an acquaintance of the murdered woman, with whom he was supposed to have close relations. Everything indicates that they could have been the background of a cruel crime. Prosecutors, however, point out that “no one has been arrested in Poland in this case yet.”

Sidorkiewicz said that the Polish prosecutor’s office is of the opinion that the 27-year-old was murdered. – The main version at this stage is the hypothesis that she was deprived of her life – said Agnieszka Adamska-Okońska, spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bydgoszcz. – Our findings show that the murder of the woman could have happened in 2006, at the end of May (when the woman disappeared – ed.) – she added.

The search is underway

Bydgoszcz investigators confirmed that a suitcase was sought in the Soar River in Leicester, in which the perpetrator and his assistant were to hide Małgorzata’s body.

Our reporter reported that services from Great Britain and Poland have been combing the riverbed for several weeks. Police officers with sonar, sniffer dogs, underwater cameras and scuba divers were involved. So far, the search has not yielded any results, but investigators believe it’s only a matter of time.

– The search is ongoing and is divided into several stages. In the selected area of the river, sonars were initially released, which indicated several potential places where the suitcase with the corpse was hidden. The search continued with the use of dogs, which also indicated several places where the corpses might have been hidden. Cameras were then introduced into the river. Currently, divers have joined the action – Agnieszka Adamska-Okońska from the Bydgoszcz prosecutor’s office reported in an interview with TVN24.
