The police from Lipsk (Mazowieckie Voivodship) detained a 22-year-old Spanish citizen, suspected of causing a collision, fleeing from the scene. According to the police, the driver damaged the police car while trying to stop. He had hashish in his car.

– The 22-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Touran caused a collision with a properly moving Seat, and then left the scene – said the spokeswoman of the District Police Headquarters in Leipzig, Asp. Monika Karasinska. – The police made an attempt to stop the perpetrator driving through the streets of Leipzig. The man, despite the light and sound signals used, did not stop, on the contrary – he started to run away, hitting the marked police car – reported the policewoman.

During the search, uniforms found hashish in the Spaniard’s car. – He explained that he had come to his grandmother and considered the drugs he possessed to be legal. More drugs were found at the foreigner’s place, said the policewoman. The driver’s blood was taken for testing for the presence of narcotics in the body.

The man will answer for failing to stop for a road check, causing two road collisions and for possession of drugs against the applicable regulations. He faces up to three years in prison. If laboratory tests confirm that the 22-year-old was driving under the influence of drugs, he will be charged with another crime.
