He was driving too fast and that drew the traffic cops on him. He has been stopped. Everything would end with a fine, which – according to the tariff – should amount to PLN 300. But not in this case. The 24-year-old, after a roadside check, went straight to prison, he is also awaiting trial.
During the “BRD Locally – Speed” activities, the police officers of the traffic department of the Leipzig police in Nowa Wieś detained the driver of an Opel for road control. It exceeded the speed limit in the built-up area by 22 km/h.
– During the control of a 24-year-old resident of Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, it turned out that he does not have the right to drive, and in the police database he is listed as a wanted person on an arrest warrant issued by the District Court in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski to serve a prison sentence. In addition, the vehicle he was driving did not have a current MOT and compulsory third-party liability insurance, Sgt. pcs. Karolina Mendyk from the Leipzig police.
Prison and trial
The man was arrested and taken to the prison where he will serve a prison sentence. In addition, he will be held in court for exceeding the speed limit and driving without a license, for which he is liable to imprisonment, restriction of liberty or a fine of not less than PLN 1,500, and a ban on driving. In addition, he will incur costs related to the lack of compulsory vehicle insurance. The penalty for the absence from July 1 this year is PLN 10,800.
