A 33-year-old man who came to a relative to pick up his son had almost one per mille of alcohol in his body. The man started a fight because the woman did not want to hand over her grandson to the care of a drunk father.

The incident took place on Monday (March 13) in the commune of Lesko in Podkarpacie. According to Katarzyna Fechner, the press officer of the Poviat Police Headquarters in Lesko, around 3.30 p.m., a resident of the Lesko commune informed the police officer that her son-in-law had arrived at her house and was knocking on the door. – The man wanted to take his son, who was under the care of his grandmother. Because the woman, observing the man’s behavior, suspected that he was drunk, she refused to hand over the child, the policewoman informed.

Police officers who arrived at the scene took the 33-year-old with a breathalyzer. – The device indicated 0.94 per mille of alcohol in the man’s body – said the aspirant Fechner. – In this state, the 33-year-old drove the vehicle and wanted to “take care” of his three-year-old son. He told police that he had taken cough syrup earlier. The Lesko police are continuing the investigation. Driving while intoxicated is punishable by up to two years in prison, a ban on driving and a heavy fine.
