Following the dying of long-time host Alex Trebek in 2020, the Studying Rainbow star was within the working to be chosen as Jeopardy!’s alternative host. The function in the end went to former executive producer Mike Richards—who was fired after allegations of sexist feedback—after which to Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings.
Now, the creator is opening up about not being chosen for the place, revealing that he was “not simply disenchanted, however wrecked.”
“Experiencing a really public defeat, humiliation, if you’ll, was sobering,” Burton instructed Newsy’s In the Loop in an interview. “I did not anticipate that I’d not be their alternative for host.”
