IMWM issued first degree warnings against storms. The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy rainfall and strong winds. The weather will not calm down during the weekend and there may be thunder in some parts of the country.

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings and a threat forecast for the weekend.

IMWM warnings – storms

First degree warnings ahead storms are valid in the following voivodeships:

  • Masovian Voivodeshipin Żuromin and Sierpc counties;
  • Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeshipin north-eastern counties;
  • Warmian-Masurian Voivodeshipin western counties;
  • Pomeranianin eastern counties.

Storms are forecast in places, accompanied locally by heavy rainfall of up to 20 liters of water per square meter and wind gusts reaching speeds of up to 75 kilometers per hour. There may be hail in spots. The warnings will be valid from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday.

On Sunday, storms may cover much larger parts of Poland. First level warnings may apply in the following voivodeships: Pomeranian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Masovian Voivodeship, Łódź, Świętokrzyskie, Silesian, Lesser Poland.
