You do it to blur the issue of Russian influence, said Paweł Kowal (KO) in “Kropka nad i”, addressing Kazimierz Smoliński (PiS). Members spoke about the commission for examining Russian influences envisaged by the “lex Tusk” and why no candidates for it were presented, although it is required by the applicable regulations. – There is a change in the legal status – Smoliński argued, referring to the amendment that was only being considered.

MPs Paweł Kowal from the Civic Coalition and Kazimierz Smoliński from Law and Justice spoke in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 about the presidential amendment to “lex Tusk”, as well as the existing law on the establishment of a commission for examining Russian influence, whose applicants are represented by Smoliński .

Candidates for members of this commission were to be submitted by Wednesday – according to the applicable regulations. However, that did not happen. Meanwhile, also on Wednesday, the Sejm’s administration and internal affairs committee supported the president’s project and the proposed amendments.

Kowal, referring to the commission to be appointed, said: – I am sure today that you want to blur the issue of Russian influence in this way.

– I call this method the Macierewicz method. (Antoni) Macierewicz, when he wanted to extend the matter of examining cooperation with the communist services, carried out the inspection in such a way that he made it ridiculous that no one wanted to touch it for years – said the KO MP. – My thesis is firm and I am able to defend it in a serious discussion, not in personal attacks. You’re doing it to blur the issue of Russian influence,” he repeated.

– You just made an embarrassment and now no one wants to touch it. You are no longer able to find any candidates (for the committee – editor’s note), because no serious person who respects his name will take part in the circus – he assessed.

Why are there no candidates? Smoliński: there is a change in the legal status

Smoliński, when asked why no candidates for the commission were presented, replied that “there is a change in the legal status”. As he said, the parliamentary committee accepted the amendments.

Pointing out that the amendment was adopted only at the administration and internal affairs committee, he replied: – But tomorrow there will be a vote.

PiS MP he was also asked whether Jarosław Kaczyński would be summoned before the commission for examining Russian influence. As the host of the program, Monika Olejnik, recalled, in 2010 the leader of PiS said in a speech to the Russians, among other things, that he saw a chance for a breakthrough in Polish-Russian relations.

– But it was an appeal to the people, not to the authorities. We maintained very cool relations with the authorities, replied Smoliński.

When asked further if Kaczyński would stand before the commission, he said: – Why should he stand? It was an appeal, but nothing was done.

Kaczyński about “imaginary reality”. Blacksmith: feels he is losing power and is unable to take responsibility

The guests of “Kropki nad i” also commented on the words of the PiS president, who, when asked on Wednesday about the situation of pregnant women in Poland, spoke about “imaginary reality”.

As Kowal assessed, “we have a scandalous statement by a politician who feels that he is losing power and is unable to take responsibility for the things he has done.” – It was President Kaczyński who appointed this one Constitutional Courthe was the one who appointed these judges, he was the one who called for changes, he was the one who provoked the big protests, he was the one who broke the abortion compromise, he was the one who destroyed the abortion law. Everything lies on him, he is responsible for it today, he will be responsible for it in the future. He is also responsible for all the consequences of this – said the KO MP.

– The deputy seems to have a somewhat delusional reality. In Poland, it is not the case that President Kaczyński can do all these things, replied Smoliński. – Everything that the MP is talking about was carried out in accordance with Polish law, in accordance with the constitution – convinced the PiS MP. He added that the current legal status “does not threaten the woman’s life.”
