This is pure, mean politics, which will be at the level of these pathodocuments on regime television, so you can have no illusions about the intentions here – said Radosław Sikorski, MEP of the Civic Platform, in “Fakty po Faktach”, referring to the so-called the “lex Tusk” commission. In this context, he also recalled the film “Oppenheimer”. Sikorski also commented on the words of the former head of diplomacy in the PiS government, Jacek Czaputowicz, who assessed on TVN24 that noting the refusal to accept the referendum card in the voter list would “break the secrecy of the vote” and could mean that the election result would be questioned.

Former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the PiS government Jacek Czaputowicz warned on TVN24 that the upcoming elections “can be undermined.” It is about combining parliamentary elections with a referendum and the need to record which voter refused to accept the referendum card. According to Czaputowicz, this is a violation of the principle of secrecy of the vote.

Czaputowicz’s words were commented on in the Tuesday edition of “Fakty po Faktach” by the former head of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radoslaw SikorskiMEP of the Civic Platform.

– I think that Minister Czaputowicz pointed to a real problem. I live in the countryside and in small communities. In committees, the coincidence of parliamentary elections and the referendum means that neighbors can know who will not collect the ballot paper for the referendum, i.e. who will rather identify as a supporter of the opposition, he said.

– In a situation where everything in Poland is partisanized to the level of cleaners, foresters and so on, for many people it can cause psychological pressure that is contrary to the principle of secret elections – he added.

Sikorski: People in Poland just started to fear the authorities again

According to Sikorski, “people in Poland simply started to fear the authorities again.” – My grandfather went and voted for the National Unity Front in the People’s Republic of Poland, because he was afraid that his pension would be taken away. And now people are afraid that they will lose their jobs, that they will be harassed. This is not what we fought for – said the guest of “Fakty po Faktach”. – And Minister Czaputowicz says that this is Belarus, because it is – he added.

Asked whether he himself would refuse to accept the referendum card, he replied that “of course, it is also not a problem in larger cities.” – But in smaller communities where everyone knows each other, it takes courage, above average courage. A civil one, because it is declassification of whether we are in favor of this referendum or not, to our own neighbors who may be supporters of the government and can do various things with this information – assessed Sikorski.

“This is not what a mature democracy should look like,” he added.

What next for “lex Tusk”? Sikorski talks about “heaps of laughter” and evokes “Oppenheimer”

Sikorski also commented on the “lex Tusk” case. On Tuesday, at 8 p.m., the deadline set by the Marshal of the Sejm expired Elizabeth Witek for the parliamentary clubs to nominate candidates for the commission which is to investigate Russian influences.

– I think it will be a lot of laughter, just like with various committees (Antoni – ed.) Macierewicz. This commission is clearly unconstitutional and is already pointing to it European Commissionwho warned our government that the fact that she is toothless does not mean that she is constitutional, because she is not – noted Sikorski.

In this context, the MEP referred to the film “Oppenheimer”, which he watched several days ago. – There, the father of the atomic bomb was destroyed at the end of his life by just such a commission sitting behind the curtain. An honest American patriot has had his name tarnished. And this is the only goal of this commission, to make someone’s life difficult by using dishonest methods, such a mechanism in which someone is a prosecutor and a judge at the same time, he said.

When asked how he would act if he was invited or summoned to a meeting of this commission, Sikorski announced that he would consult with “other potential victims of this campaign”. – Of course, with Donald Tusk, with Waldemar Pawlak and others, because this is pure, mean politics. It will be at the level of these pathodocuments on regime television, so you can’t have any illusions about intentions here – he said.

– No one will want to find out any truth there. After all, if they are afraid of Russian influence, counterintelligence and the prosecutor’s office should be launched, not some commissions, so it will be pure propaganda, he added.
