President Andrzej Duda in an interview with the TVN correspondent, Marcin Wrona, when asked whether he would veto lex TVN, replied that if he came to the conclusion that important elements related to the constitutional order and security of business activity are questioned, then “the decisions will be here firm, of course. “
The act referred to as lex TVN returned to the Sejm after it was rejected by the Senate. President Andrzej Duda was asked about the matter during a conversation with Marcin Wrona. The correspondent of “Fakt” TVN recalled that during his stay in the USA, the president met with representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce on Thursday.
– We also discussed this subject, because during this meeting the representative of Discovery was present – said the president. – But I must say that it was a very nice meeting for me, because I heard many good words about Poland, they did not have to say it. They said a lot of good about our development, about our economic policy, also in relation to the pandemic – he added.
President on lex TVN: I will make a decision when I get the bill
– I said, as I repeat all the time, of course I understand American interests and the American approach, but I assured everyone, and I said it loudly that all standards are respected in Poland, that there is freedom of speech in Poland, freedom to conduct business in Poland guaranteed by the Polish constitution, and therefore from this point of view I will evaluate this law when I get it – said the president.
Directly asked whether he will veto lex TVN, the president replied: – I will make a decision when I get the bill.
– If I come to the conclusion that important elements related to the constitutional order and security, such as running a business, investing in Poland, and the peace of investing in Poland, are put into question there, then these decisions will of course be decisive here – said the president.
