During an exercise by paratroopers from a military unit in Leźnica Wielka near Ozorków (Łódź Voivodeship), one of the soldiers landed on a tree. The intervention of the fire brigade was necessary. The spokeswoman of the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade in Tomaszów Mazowiecki said that weather conditions contributed to the situation.
The incident occurred on September 18 around noon in Leźnica Wielka. Firefighters were called to help a parachutist who was about to land on a tree. – We were provided with a 40-meter lift with a basket. Our actions consisted of removing the soldier and then the parachute that remained on the tree, said senior Dominik Wilk, spokesman for the Zgierz fire brigade. Military: The wind direction has changed
– Everything took place in accordance with safety conditions. Instruction was given before jumping. The wind direction changed, it was the last jumper in the outlet, so when the wind changed direction it was carried towards the trees.
