Libya. Bengazi threatens Tripolis with a Russian rocket system shown in the military parade

The Libyan National Army (LNA) sent a signal to the authorities in Tripoli to indicate the military potential of Libya-during the parade Russian Rocket Systems TOR-M2 were presented.

The Libyan National Army (LNA), commanded by the Field Marshal Chalifa Haftar, organized on Monday a military parade in Bengazi, during which she showed Russian Tor-M2 rocket systems, thus sending a signal about its combat advantage to the authorities in Tripoli.

The Monday parade was not only a demonstration addressed to the government in Tripoli. It was primarily an open proof that Russia, providing the ruling eastern Libyan with a warranty, advanced military equipment – directly or by intermediaries – broke the resolution of the Security Council UNwhich prohibits all exports of weapons to Libya since 2011.

Film record of the parade was posted on Tuesday's Facebook profile. It clearly shows Tor-M2 and Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft systems.

Tor-M2 is used to detect and destroy small, fast-moving objects, so it provides defense against drones, which have recently become a dominant weapon in global conflicts, including Libya.

On the recording, in addition to rocket launchers, you can also see Russian tanks and over a hundred advanced Russian VPK Spartak combat vehicles. Russian armored transporters and heavy M-26 helicopter were also at the parade. Chinese production was also visible, such as Olitation VT370 and SATAUV V15.

Show of strength in the shadow of a military campaign

The pretext for the strength of the strength was the 11th anniversary of the Al-Karama operation, i.e. dignity, like the Libyan National Army defines its military campaign carried out in Bengazi in 2014 against Islamic militias.

At the time, the struggles were commanded by an embroidery, who after this military success took control of a significant part of eastern and southern Libya, strengthening – from the overthrow in 2011 the dictator of Muammar Gadafi – the division of the country into two parts.

Western, with the government of national unity (GNU) in Tripoli, is recognized by the international and eastern community, supported by the parliament based in Bengazi, controls the Haftar family.
