The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate has published a public warning about a batch of pizza that could be purchased on the Lidl network. The reason is that gluten is detected in a product labeled gluten-free. The distributor decided to withdraw the product from the market.
It is a product called Vegan Stonebaked Pizza Margherita. “The company Lidl sp. Z oo sp. K., Which is the distributor of the questioned product, withdrawn the product from the market immediately after receiving information about the non-compliance” – we read in the GIS release.
The inspectorate stipulated that “people with allergies and people with gluten intolerance should not consume the products indicated in the announcement”. As recalled, gluten is an allergenic substance, and consumption of the product by people who are allergic to the allergen may cause allergic reactions.
