Police from Lipsk (Mazowieckie) stopped a delivery driver on Friday morning for exceeding the speed limit. It turned out that the bread delivery driver was drunk and had set off three hours earlier.
Last Friday after 7 a.m. in the town of Lipie Miklas, traffic police stopped an Iveco delivery van, whose driver had exceeded the speed limit in a built-up area by 13 kilometres per hour.
He lost his driving license, he faces prison
– As it turned out, the 49-year-old, a resident of the Kielce district, was intoxicated. The test showed 0.63 per mille of alcohol in his system. The police also determined that the man was a bread delivery man and had set off more than three hours earlier. The 49-year-old lost his driving license – said Monika KarasiÅ„ska, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Lipsk.
The policewoman emphasized that the man could face up to three years in prison for driving while intoxicated. He will also face charges for exceeding the speed limit.
– Let's remember that any amount of alcohol consumed reduces concentration, reduces reaction speed and causes incorrect assessment of distance and speed, which is the main cause of road accidents. A drunk driver is a threat to himself and other road users – the policewoman appealed at the end.
